Tip 1

Ask if you will have to do the same things your travel mates are doing or if you will you have multiple-guides and different activities to choose from
Tip 2

Ask if you will have a doctor onboard. This will make all the difference on your Galapagos trip, considering that you’re travelling in a remote region.
Tip 3

The bigger the ship, the more exclusive the beach becomes for all our guests aboard. An expedition vessel is often the only ship present at certain visitor sites

Do all ships have plenty of space in public areas? Ask about Guest-Space Ratio.
Tip 5

Are you concerned about getting sea sick? An expedition vessel, by its very size, reduces movement at sea. Single-guided boats, however, often face interesting challenges when sailing between islands.

Ask about which itinerary will give you the best island and wildlife coverage. How many BIG15 species will you see?

Will everyone on your boat be speaking the same language? Will your guide have to repeat information in two or more languages?

How many passengers will your group have? On expedition vessels, the number of guests per guide is an average of 12.

Are you worried about the size of ships in Galapagos? The largest ships are only allowed to hold a maximum of 100 passengers, so you won’t be overwhelmed by the size of ships in the Galapagos.

Having trouble deciding on the best trip dates and length for you? Expedition vessels, yachts, and land-based options offer a wide variety of choices for voyage length (5-15 days) and timing.
Tip 11

Are you aware of how much tourism helps the Galapagos? The Galapagos National Park strictly controls the number of visitors allowed to visit the area each year. As a result, the total number of people staying on live-aboard ships (in an entire year) is close to 75,000. This is less than what a world-class sports stadium holds at just one sold-out event!
Tip 12

Avoid going on smaller boats if you want privacy. It’s always important to know if you will have the freedom to find your own space when you want it. Otherwise, you might have to share the whole trip with the same group of people.
